“The K&D Sessions” Album Review

29 Dec

-Kruder Dorfmeister-

Three words: Boutique Electro Lounge. That’s all one needs these days and the stress just melts away. These tunes have been Duracell during my south of the boarder vaca- officially the official music of midday pool sessions. Pure Luck: Couple days ago I was walking through the music store looking for some local South African house music when I recognized the album cover off of Pandora. I think my third-world copy was imported either from the States or Germany, for Americans it’ll be an easy pull. It’s a two disc experience, to expectation the Germans do well not to disappoint –yes they’ve come a long way since 99 Red Balloons. Most tracks are a wall of sound that skilfully manage to maintain their relaxing subtlety, ranging from remixed Bossa to slo-mo Drum ‘n’ Bass to Trip-Hop.  Type these guys in Pandora and it should give you a weird mix of electro lounge that will need a little tuning to get the internet radio station pumping out a symphony of serial hits before sloughing off after about an hour or so. Off the top of my head other guys that should pop up on Pandora that are worth mentioning are Supreme Beings of Leisure, Boards of Canada, Portishead and Massive Attack- essentials for your library.

The tracks are growing on me daily but there is  one obvious hitter that I’m restraining from listening to forego beating the shit out of novelty- seven DEPECHE MODE Useless. On the whole it’s a Swiss Army knife with all the benefits and no disadvantages of non-effective puny-ness. I’ll be listening to this shit for a while to come – homework, ambient, morning music, chill out, w/e baby all-weather.
